The 10U Girls Take Third Again

The 10U girls put in another great performance in the Hampton Roads Challenge Scholarship Tournament at Stoney Run on 8 & 9 October with another 3rd place trophy. They drew some stiff competition on Saturday with a win against Huguenot Hornets and hard fought battles against Orion Hunter & Galaxy.  On Sunday they won their first game 15-5 against Northern Neck Rage but lost to Galaxy, keeping them out of the championship round.

1 player from last year’s team, Emma, was there to help during several games. Becca had 3 RBIs on the weekend, and Bridget and Vanessa each had 2.  Emily’s excellent catch in right field earned her an MVP in game 1.   Madalyn’s pitching versus the Hornets earned her the MVP in Game 2.  Ellie’s pitching against former teammates earned her an MVP in game 4.

The team continues to show great promise and is improving their performance in every aspect of the game.  Over the next few weeks they'll be preparing for their next tournament later in October.

The 10U girls take third place in their first tournament

The 10U girls played in the Oct 1-2 NSA Williamsburg Fall Festival Qualifier.  This was the first tournament for the 2012 10U team.  Due to rain problems they were only able to play two games on Saturday.  They won one game on Saturday and lost one.

On Sunday they also played two games, winning the first and losing the second.  Their performance was good enough to garner them the third place trophy.

Madalyn, Bridget, Haley, and Rachel were each awarded MVP medals in one of the games.
